Chip Tricks

Shuffling

The most common of all tricks that you will see is shuffling. To shuffle poker chips you start with two equal stacks. I would recommend starting with stacks of four. You place your index and middle finger on the left stack while your ring and picky are placed on the right stack. Your thumb is going to start out on the back of the left stack while gradually lifting and pushing toward your right stack.

Once the bottom chips start to go the rest will follow. This is a fairly easy trick and can be mastered after minimal practice.

Chip twirling

You start this trick by holding three chips between your thumb and your index finger. You now take your middle finger and place it on the bottom of the inside chip and place your ring finger below all three of the chips. Now, begin to loosen your grip on the three chips with your thumb and your index finger. The middle chip should be the only one to fall. This chip should now be ready to be moved. Next, tighten your grip on the outer and inner chips with your thumb and your index finger. Now take your ring finger directly under your thumb and press against the middle chip. You should now get the middle chip out of the way by applying pressure with your ring finger and using your index as the pivot point. While you are holding the middle chip between your ring finger and your index finger, rotate the chip 180 degrees by moving it with your middle finger, this will mean your middle finger moves toward the palm of your hand. Now put the middle chip back into place by moving your ring finger and thumb towards each other using the index finger as the pivot point. This trick can get frustrating at first but with some practice should become very doable.

The front to back trick

To many people this is thought of as one of the easiest tricks that you can do. To perform this trick you need to hold four or five chips parallel to each other and move them from the beginning of the stack to the end of the stack.

Before you begin the trick you should nudge the first chip loose. After you have done this you will want to apply heavy pressure to the remaining chips with your pinky and your middle finger. Now you will spin the first chip up by using your thumb to roll it as the middle finger is the pivot point. When the first chip is high enough you will pull it down using your thumb.

Knuckle roll over trick

The knuckle roll over is a simple trick. It will only take one chip and one of your hands. You will first place the chip between your thumb and your index finder. The chip will move along the index finger and comes back down between the index finger and the middle finger. The chip will follow along going above the middle finger and comes back down between the middle finger and the ring finger. The chip goes above the ring finger and rests between the ring finger and the pinky.

At last the chip will go under your index finger, middle finger, and ring finger back to its starting position.
