Recognizing Player Types
You should always watch who you’re playing with and notice what type of player they are.If you are playing in a ring of ten people and you see a player play more than 40 percent of his hands (which is very high) he is definately a loose player and should be feared when weak flops are on the board.
He is willing to play a J6 in early position and if you see two 6’s on the board and he is betting big you may want to consider getting out. This player is not afraid to call you on a straight or flush draw.
When going against him heads up make sure you have something because he will surely call you down. A loose player has a higher tendency to bluff as well. If you think you have spotted a tell, you should call him on it.
A tight player although better is much more predictable to play. It seems that there is less luck involved when two tight players go head to head. You know he is going to play the good cards and the odds. If he calls or raises the blinds you should have a good hand to stay in. Play the odds and reconsider a big bet if on a strait or flush draw.
